ECHUCA United Football Netball Club will be staging its first annual Fishing Classic in March.

The three day angling event — March 16-18 — includes entertainment, raffles and, of course, fishing.

The all ages event is being held at Morning Glory River Resort, where cabins are available for those keen to have a weekend away.

The fishing classic kicks off Friday at 6pm with registration and entertainment throughout the evening.

But it bets serious at 7am Saturday when worms are hooked on, lines are cast and all eyes are in the water.

After 10 hours of angling for the top prizes it’s rods packed up and back to Morning Glory for food and entertainment (and those raffles will be sold and drawn throughout the night).

Sunday morning is another early start — but with an early finish. You will have from 7am until 11am to land the tournament winner.

And win a brand spanking new boat (complete with motor) and buckets of other goodies.

All up the competition is worth thousands of dollars with all sorts of prizes and incentives.

So after 11am, when the tackle box is put away, there’s more entertainment, plenty of chances to buy more raffle tickets and live updates over the course of the weekend.

If you book before February 15 you also go in the early bird entry with a chance to win a 60L Engel fridge/freezer.
